Instrumentation and Control Cables

Instrumentation and control cables are used in control systems, measurement processes, and data processing across various industries. These cables are designed to transmit control signals and information between industrial equipment and are manufactured in different categories depending on the type of insulation and sheath used in their structure

Instrumentation Cables

REY (st) Y, REY (st) YRY, PIMF

Application

These cables are suitable for data transmission and for use in measurement and control technologies such as industrial unit control rooms and power plants. When shielding is used, the transmission circuit is protected against external electrical interferences. Pair-structured cables provide appropriate crosstalk attenuation levels.

Structure

  • Conductor: Annealed copper, Class 1 (solid), Class 2 (stranded), and Class 5 (flexible), plain or tinned, in accordance with BS 6360.
  • Insulation: HFFR, PE, PVC, or XLPE compound.
  • Arrangement of conductors: Conductors are arranged individually or in paired, triple, or quadruple elements with color coding or numbering.
  • Pair shielding: For cables with pair shielding: tinned copper drain wire, aluminum foil, polyester tape, copper braid or tinned copper braid, or a combination of braid and foil.
  • Overall shielding: For cables with overall shielding: tinned copper drain wire, aluminum foil, polyester tape, copper braid or tinned copper braid, or a combination of braid and foil.
  • Inner sheath: PE, PVC, or HFFR compound.
  • Armoring: Galvanized steel wires, double steel tape, or steel wire braid over the inner sheath for armored cables.
  • Sheath: PE, PVC, or HFFR compound. The sheath color is usually black.

Standard

  • BS EN 50288-7 with a rated voltage of 500 V (upon request, cables with 90 V or 300 V can also be produced).

Shielded Flexible Control Cables - NYSLYC ، NYSLY

Shielded Flexible Control Cables

NYSLYC ، NYSLY

Application

These types of cables are suitable for connecting components of machinery used in production lines, including machine tools and mechanical transport equipment. Direct connection of these cables to the main power supply is permitted. Continuous bending of shielded cables is not allowed. If no movement is required during operation, installation in ducts, trays, and similar systems is recommended. These cables are suggested for environments with a moderate level of electromagnetic interference. They are designed for indoor use where the ambient temperature ranges between +5°C and +40°C.

Structure

  • Conductor: Annealed copper, Class 5 (flexible), according to IEC 60228 or ISIRI 3084.
  • Insulation: PVC compound type PVC/D.
  • Arrangement of cores: The cores are stranded in one or several concentric layers. Use of a single core in the center of the cable is not permitted. Cables with three or more cores include one core colored green-yellow.
  • Inner sheath: Typically, longitudinal polyester tape is used over the stranded cores (NYSLCY type). Upon request, PVC/ST5 compound may be used instead of tape (also type NYSLCY).
  • Screen: Braided screen made of tinned or plain copper wires.
  • Sheath: PVC compound type PVC/ST5. The sheath color is typically gray.

Standard

  • Rated voltage 300/500 V. ISIRI (607) 74 or IEC 60227-7.
